I love the handwriting style. How can I learn how to write like this. My writing is like a drunk spider and now I own a 149 i want to use it properly with all the correct equipment, like you have. Great vid.

I find the young lady who presents these programmes to be utterly delightful.

I Love the vintage antique pens, especially the Sheaffer's, the way they write and the nib feedback is almost perfect. A person is hard pressed to find that quality in a modern fountain pen, without laying down a few $100 or so.
As always great video!

What a pretty combo. I love when the right paper, pen, and ink come along and the stars align. It adds something extra to the journaling experience. 😁

Your manner of speaking and the cadence of your presentation is SO relaxing, I really enjoy watching as I wind down at the end of a long work day before diving into my own journal.

Also, I’m very jealous of how neat and clean your handwriting is 😬

I don't have any vintage fountain pens yet, but I'm sorely tempted. I just can imagine what a slippery slope it will be! Lovely video

I really enjoy this series. So far I haven't found perfect combinations like this, but I'm always on the look out for them. That said I love how Diamine Ancient Copper works with my Kaweco Brass F nib. Glad I'm not alone on loving the way Parker bottle caps sound and feel and the vintage ones are even better!! I had an old half empty bottle of a Parker Blue ink that I found in my grandmother's house, last year I found out that that ink was what they used to write to each other. The ink is gone but I still keep the empty bottle and their letters.

That is really neat handwriting. I have a Shaeffer Balance limited edition (never inked). I bought it about 15 years ago for about £10 and forgot that I had it and only dusted the box off a few weeks ago.

Hey Alicia 🙂 I hope you and yours are well? How do you find the Pineider inkwell? I have the Visconti Travelling inkwell and that fits my oversize pens well. That’s a very nice pen 👍🏻 Vintage look so good. I would say it’s ‘flashy’ in the sense that as a vintage pen, that in itself is superb as you don’t see many anymore. Those old celluloid pens are cool. 🙂

Hi Alicia, Thank you very much for another lovely and inspiring video. The pen is gorgeous, and the Galen Leather products look fantastic. I live in England and I have been wondering about the customs duties that will/ may be applied as they are from Turkey. Take care, David.

That is a nice looking pen, I have one around that same vintage. 1924 or so and the same nib, yes, they do write very nice.

I've been looking for a good pen and ink combination to use with cheap office paper; for work use. So far, pilot steel nibs (F and EF, in my Cavalier and 78g) with Waterman Serenity Blue, have been showing the best performance among the inks I own.
Very interesting idea for satchel. Have you ever thought about making something similar in leather? like a simple saddle bag or "possible bags" to house and carry your journaling supplies; it would be a fun project.
Thanks for the video.

I adore all my vintage Sheaffer pens. And the Oversize Balance (I have two) pens was one of my earliest favorites. My pair are filled with Sheaffer Skrip Blue and Skrip Brown. I don’t have a Parker ink in my collection. I notice you have the older Balance with the humped clip. One of mine is the same. These pens are true keepers.
When people wax lyrical about the Parker 51’s iconic, revolutionary status in design and style, I always have to chime in with the fact that the Sheaffer Balance was every bit as original, iconic and pioneering in its torpedo design and overall aesthetics in that era.
Cool to see you give love and attention to your Balance pen. I applaud that! 👍

I like boring. I only use the Parker black in my pens. Thank you for sharing

Parker Quink inks are classics, secure, cheap and beautiful. They are a must have, like Waterman or Pelikan 4001 inks.

I will test Sheaffer inks another time...

I enjoy your pen and ink pairings. Ironically, I have several bottles of Sheaffer's inks from the past, and none seem to like Sheaffer's pens, compared with other inks. Currently, the 1920's Sheaffer's I'm using has 1930s Carter's washable blue in, because it just works well for any pen I've used it in. Best behaved ink I own. 😁
Generally a "boring, standard" ink, but it works for any pen and paper I've tried (not paper towels or toilet paper. Yet. 😁)
It's always interesting when someone showcases a "tried and true" ink, as opposed to the latest "colour or special properties" ink of the week. I have a bottle of Parker Quink microfilm black from the WWII era, which looks like the Parker Quink still sold today. Guess that when it still works, why change it a lot? 😉 (I really like the "boring old inks" from the past. 😁)
Though I'm not really a journal type, the products you have shown still have interest to me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on them!

I'm a huge fan of vintage pens, so I was a natural sucker for this video! What a pretty pen! And you picked a great ink!

You also gave a good tip about having a blotting sheet!
