That is actually caused by the way the water spins. A better way is real honey crystallizes over time, fake honey doesn't 🙂

No that’s not the reason when you shake the water over the honey it creates that pattern if you move it back and forth it will make the same imprint as water does on sand.

I don't know why people keep believing this... swirling water is what makes the pattern appear. You could put anything of a similar density and swirl it and create the same pattern.

It's actually just the movement of the water. You can try this out with other sticky substances like syrup or something

This isn’t true . A YouTuber (how to cook that) who actually has a college degree in food science debunked this. She said it’s the movement of the water that is creating the pattern. If you move the bowl side to side it would create a wave pattern.
