Sonic Tried to Save pikachu!

If you look closely pikachu moves faster then sonic in some frames, confirming sonic slowed down trying to grab and SAVE pikachu, something about makes me happy, since sonic would risk his life to try to save someone

The fact that Sonic could've had a greater chance to escape, though he chose to save someone even though it put him in greater danger says a lot about Sonic's character that many people gloss over.

It's been 5 years. Sonic & Pokemon fans such as myself witnessed something that only was almost a dream: Sonic having some connection or interaction with Pikachu. He tried to save him, died trying. That...made my heart melt. Not only does it fit Sonic's heroic character, but this scene means a whole lot more than that to me. And that is also why my most used characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate are Sonic the Hedgehog and Pikachu. With the third at the time being Kirby, because if all three survived, I would've loved World of Light a whole lot more than I do now. I thank the people who decided to create this short but sweet scene to connect these two distinct characters and their franchises.

The only reason some couldn’t outrun cause he was saving pikachu and had to match his speed with pikachus but if he wasn’t there sonic could’ve went max speed and would’ve survived with Kirby

I love they put this, it justifies why sonic didn’t got saved from the light (he can run faster than the light) and it also fits amazingly with Sonic Character, in almost all his games he saves the animals from Dr Eggman, and Pikachu is technically an animal
