I love Portugal and go there as often as I can. Being from the UK it's little more than a 2 hour flight. Friendly people. Great food. Fantastic beaches and countryside. Rich history and culture. All in all a wonderful place.

Hello. I am Portuguese and I can say, Portugal is very good, to spend your holidays here. In order to live, it is a tragedy mainly for low wages and we have to reproduce the quality of products and services that the European Union demands. It's complicated being a poor country. But we have survived for 800 years.

'Oi' is a brazilian portuguese expression!
You must say "Olá", that is portuguese portuguese.

Oi is actually what they say in Brazil, in Portugal you say Olá.

Thanks for your video about my country, Portugal. You are most welcome here, Tysheen, whenever you visit us! One thing, though: I think the video you reacted to may be a bit old because some of the things that bloke mentioned aren't exactly like that. The cost of living in cities like Lisboa or Porto has risen a lot in the past years, mainly because we have way too many wealthy people from other countries buying homes there. Finding a job is not as easy as it may seem, but other than that Portugal is an amazing place to live in. You will definitely fall in love with our countryside and our food!

"Oi" is Brazilian slang for hello. In Portugal is "olá", it's the same as in Spanish!

I live in Portugal and can confirm it is beautiful. Living in the countryside here though? No thank you. I open my curtains and see the ocean every day. That’s my idea of heaven.

Curiosity on the famous Pasteis de belém ( Belém sweet pasty)
"At the beginning of the Nineteenth Century, in Belém, next to Mosteiro dos Jerónimos (the Heironymite Monastery) there was a sugar cane refinery attached to a small general store. As a result of the 1820 liberal revolution, all convents and monasteries in Portugal were shut down in 1834, the clergy and labourers expelled.
In an attempt at survival, someone from the monastery offered sweet pastries for sale in the shop; pastries that rapidly became known as ‘Pastéis de Belém’.
At that period the area of Belém was considered far from the city of Lisbon and mainly accessed by steam-boats. At the same time, the grandeur of the monastery and the Torre de Belém (the Belém Tower) attracted visitors who soon grew used to savouring the delicious pastries originated in the monastery.
In 1837, the baking of the “Pastéis de Belém”began in the buildings attached to the refinery, following the ancient ‘secret recipe` from the monastery. Passed on and known exclusively to the master confectioners who hand-crafted the pastries in the ‘secret room’, this recipe remained unchanged to the present day."
p.s. . the countryside his even cheaper and do more videos plz....

Hey! Portuguese here 👋I love to live on my country and I do not consider leaving. but of course there are bad things, but mostly only if you are portuguese, not if you are a tourist. Salaries are still too low, and its Impossible to rent a house in Lisbon if you are living on the average portuguese salary. (By yourself at least). There's nota many videos on YouTube that do justice to Portugal's interior and villages, they Often focus too much on Lisbon or (sometimes) on Oporto and Algarve. Hope one day you have the opportunity to see for yourself :) you would be very welcome.
