Alex Ovechkin's Greatest Goal?

Alex Ovechkin has a highlight reel that will impress anyone with some knowledge of the NHL and Hockey as a whole. Ovechkin, the league leader in goals scored, supplied us with another brilliant piece of play that will leave you saying, "how did he do that?" I actually, seriously think they should highlight the puck.  Unfortunately, years ago they did this ridiculous thing where they circled it and then showed a red or blue trail behind it.  But if they did something unobtrusive like putting a black circle around it so it appeared twice the size and made it show up through the boards on the near-side, it would help without getting in the way.

I played hockey, mostly street hockey. If you dropped your stick, you picked it the fuck up again. There was no bench for you to skate by.

I kind of think everyone is overreacting. It's an interesting goal, all things considered, but it's not pretty nor his greatest.

Another thing, Bobby Ryan's goal with Koivu's stick was better than this.

His best goal ever was in his rookie year. From the back on the ice, scored against the Yotes.

Ovie is, imo of course, the best pure scorer I've seen play. That being said, I take Steven Stamkos over him every single day of the week. Ovie is a winger who is one dimensional. Highly unlikely that they'll win anything in Washington with him as the Captain and face of that franchise. Regular season wins and personal stats are nice, but that's not why NHL players play.

Whats so good about this goal compared to the other 33 hes scored this year? Like I said before TYT needs a Canadian up there when the cover hockey.

his laying from his back one handed over your own head shot goal vs Brian Boucher(NHL consecutive shutout record holder, inconsistent but no slouch).... and I will now watch this video and explain why it's not as good a goal

also, as AWESOME a sport as hockey is, it's a rich mans game... skill almost exclusively depends on ice time which is expensive...

The NFL and the NBA are freak shows.  Makes me laugh when the complain abour steroids in baseball….  Why is no one pointing out the obvious regarding the NFL?  Another great thing anout the NHL…many are average size.  Tough as nails…but average.  If you're going to be a 6' white guy when you grow up and you dream of playing a professional sport…at least with the NHL it's not over BEFORE you start.

greatest goal really?? not even close.. the greatest goal or has to be in top 5 has to be Ovechkin falling down against the Coyotes and scoring while on the ice or Bobby Orr flying goal in the Stanely Cup
