I think Al di Meola, on top of playing the guitar supernaturally, has found the elixir to stop aging. He's barely changed physically in 5 decades.

This is what it sounds like when you start playing at 8 years old, and never stop advancing. Total master. His technique is the stuff of dreams and fantasy. Total mastery of the instrument and theory. The critics down below could never touch this level of playing, which is why they have not played with Corea. The scary thing is that Al will play this right off the notation sheet that he wrote - note per note without missing a beat. All you haters - bow and kiss his ring.

I was captivated by AL’s playing while in RTF...he seems to be able to play whatever comes to mind...his dedication is amazing, I also believe that comparing musicians is a futile endeavor, each has their own voice, I appreciate what gifts a musician has and know that a lot of time and effort went into it to bring them to this level of playing.

I don't know what others may think but this is what Al D. does...better than anyone on the planet.
Music is akin to language...unless you speak it, many cannot understand Al's language.

I have heard of Al Di Meola for years but never heard him play til now. Last year I bought an Epiphone electric guitar from Guitar Center for $79.00. In 2002 I had a serious injury to my hand which severed most of my right thumb and also did damage to my forearm as well. I am constant pain, but playing guitar seems to make it feel better.

I have a Zoom G1 ON pedal and i often use the Acoustic Guitar simulator. Some how, I can hold a pick and finger the strings like you with a classical guitar. After watching this video, I just may buy an acoustic or Flamenco guitar.

I think all the people on here who are making ignorant remarks about Al need to actually pick up and listen to some of the great work he's  done over past 4 decades and realize he's at a point in his career where he can take liberties with whatever he wants.
