Abstract Algebra Lectures Part 8: Permutation Groups

In this video, we discuss the permutation groups Sn. We briefly mention that any finite group is isomorphic to a subgroup of some Sn. We then prove that for n at least 5, Sn is not solvable. This result will show that there is no formula to solve degree 5 or higher polynomials.
