I liked the first Shazam movie and also love Black Adam... That means there are hopes...

I still can't understand why this film is so hated. It's fun and has heart like the first one. The villains (to me) are memorable in a way that makes them stand out on their own. One wants to ensure the safety of Earth, one wants to maintain her leadership because of age and the other one is jealous of the older one and is way more evil.

And that fight between Billy and the dragon leading to his death was so powerful because not only did he do it to ensure his family would be safe but also because he knows that's what a hero would do. And the reactions from Freddie and the family after seeing Billy dead gave me chills. Freddy genuinely felt the loss of a friend and a brother. Although, my problem with Billy's death is that Wonder Woman just comes in to revive him after he's buried and having that powerful goodbye scene. And that post credit scene with Gunn's wife recruiting Billy to the JSA was so needless and not funny.

But even if those two things are my main problems with Shazam 2, it's still a great film that deserves more love.

I loved this movie it was really amazing when Billy died I cried so much then he came back to life it knew how to use emotional moments really well

When it seemed like Billy was gonna sacrifice himself, I thought he wasn’t gonna die but then it showed Billy on the ground and Freddy and everyone else was crying and hugging. Then, they cut to the next scene with Billy’s grave and I was like “Wait! What?!” Then, of course, I saw red boots and music started playing and I was like “Ohhhh!” This movie was awesome!

They did my favorite angst trope. Death and revival of the main character. Or just any character in general.
