SSR SR189 Carb Upgrade

We upgrade the carb on the SSR 189 from the stock one to give this bike a lot more power and get rid of that dreaded bogging issue. I know this vid is quite old so idk if you'll see this, but how did you get those hand guards on? Went to install em yesterday on my wife's 189 that we picked up last weekend, and the throttle tube is different than any other bike I've dealt with. It has a lip on the inside of the throttle tube so you can't slide it past the end of the bars to be able to then put the hand guards on without it sitting against the throttle tube, which would obviously cause the throttle to stick insanely bad. Did you just dremel that lip out of the throttle tube and adjust all your controls over about half an inch, or did you buy a throttle tube from something like a CRF150/CRF230?

Hey, I got a 2016 189cc ssr and my manifold needs to get change. Where can i get a manifold??
The manifold is the the big plastic that is connected to the carburetor and goes to the air filter.
Reallly need one for my bike.

How about there is a company that sells a 24mm carb kit for the 150 and 189 with different jetting for each that supposedly performs much better then stock .. Whats everyones thoughts..

28mm or 30mm Carb swap ?? I have a 2021 sir 189 and the stock carb is a 30mm I would like to swap to either the Keihin or Nibbi what would you suggest and do I go with the 30mm or the 28mm like you did? Thanks

Any info on rear brake lever replacement? The stock seems a bit narrow for me. This has been a super fun bike. Haven't messed with the carb cause I'm having too much fun on it.. Lol.

Did you ssr 189 come with an extra set of jets? I got a 135 main and a 48 pilot along with my user manual

Purchasing a 2019 sr189 and the buyer's guide says 30mm carb. I also noticed it has 3hp more than the older models. I wonder if they upgraded the carb on the recent model, or did you buy the smaller carb on purpose??
