All it is missing is the handyman's secret weapon - Duct Tape!

Owner should send AAA this video. I've never known the clubs to be unresponsive to problems or mistakes. The participating mechanics... Different story. Might have something to do with AAA's reimbursement rates.

As someone who used to work for a AAA contractor and drove the battery truck as my very first automotive job, I can tell you with 100% certainty that this is par for the course. The people hired to do this are paid basically minimum wage and have no automotive experience. I only did it because I wanted to work for the particular company that was working as the AAA contractor and the battery truck was the only job they had at the time, so I just “put my foot in the door” so to say. Only did it for like 4 or 5 months before I moved into the shop.

Also, at least when I did it, the incentive pay for selling and installing a battery was roughly the equivalent of doing 3 service calls, so for most of the people doing the job, literally every single jumpstart suddenly had a “bad battery” and needed replacement. I had a soul and a conscience, so I didn’t do that, but I knew plenty who did.

This is why I don’t let anyone work on my cars unless I have to. I’m 68 years old and have yet to find a mechanic I can trust.

I drove wreckers, large and small, professionally for almost a decade. We steered clear of AAA contracts. And I agree, those terminals are garbage as are those J-bolts

This is what a year membership can get you if you act now 😊

Does AAA compensate the guy for butchering his car?

Looks like AAA did another Quality Job. Explains Why I have Never Fallen for the Countless Infomercials they use to Advertise the Great Service Provided🤪👎

Those terminals are fine on older stuff that isn't a rolling supercomputer. I've had a pair on my 85 F150 since before I bought it in 2007 and I've never had problems with them. But then again that truck's so damn simple that the most complicated electronic device bolted to it is the FM radio/tape deck in the dash.

One time, I had AAA come and jump start the battery on my minivan and after I started the engine, the driver threw down the prop rod without securing it to the clip and then proceeded to drop the hood to latch it and left a 1-inch dent on the underside edge of the hood.

AAA tech obviously read the instructions on the battery terminal protectors. they just had a little different idea what the word post means.

At a previous employer, we were a "AAA authorized repair shop", and a car came in for no start. Had a "new" AAA battery in AAA roadside battery installation truck had to come to the shop because 3 of their batteries in a row all tested bad... those employees were completely shocked because they've "never had that happen that happen".
