Fun Fact: Kathleen's bearded Lieutenant, Perry, is played by Jeffrey Pierce, who did the voice and performance capture for Tommy, in the games.

Bella's gutteral outcry when Henry shoots himself is so jarringly real, it was actually what made me tear up. You could tell that was a core memory for Ellie, a terrible moment that is burned into her brain

I once heard this from a combat medic, he said that while not every dying man cried out for somebody, the ones who did always cried out for their mom. Not their dads, not their spouses, not their siblings, not their children, not even God, it was always "mom", and he said that out of everything, those men crying out for their mothers was the one thing that messed him up

This show destroys you on a weekly basis Nat, and you're a real trooper for continuing on the journey. Your reactions are just amazing 🤗💛

The only solace I can take in Sam's death is the idea that he slowly drifted off to sleep thinking that he would wake up cured. I just need to think he didn't suffer.

2:50 is definitely one of Natalie’s top 10 jumpscare moments

I think seeing you break at all these emotional moments is comforting to some of us because it's like we are being given permission to also feel sadness at these moments. Thank you for sticking with this series and thank you for being vulnerable in so many of your other videos!

So, fun fact about episode 4: After Joel lays the broken glass down on the floor as a rudimentary alarm, he tells Ellie that he's partially deaf in his right ear, then the show has him go to sleep with his left ear facing up to hear, but when they are sneaked up on, Joel is shown being asleep with his right ear facing up. Just a neat little detail.

As a player of the game I knew that Henry Sam situation was coming up and I was so excited. And then I saw they aged Sam down a bit, found the cutest kid to play him and wrote him as a deaf character (and cast appropriately, thank you HBO). When I saw that I wanted to cus out their writers. I knew this was gonna hurt twice as much by the end of it. I haven't gotten my ass kicked like this by a tv episode since the red wedding.

Some things I didn't know on my first view of some of these episodes:

The bodies Kathleen said to burn are the ones we see on the road when Joel and Ellie were driving inside KC.
Sam turned away from Ellie before he got turned. He did a truly heroic act as his last act before being truly turned.
Henry never killed anybody...until his brother.
Never Let Me Down Again in the credits of the last episode was sung by craig mazin's daughter.

Love your reactions. Can't wait for the last few :D

Episode 5 was when the show got me. In the game Sam keeps it to him self. But in the show. When Sam tells Ellie and she tries to help him... like I knew it wouldnt work... but I wanted it too. That is when this show became so much more... I love it soo much

I think 23:11 marks the hardest Natalie has ever cried, to my knowledge. What a brutal scene.

Bella Ramsey's acting was phenomenal with the last shot from Henry. She also knocks it out of the park in a later episode. Truly the perfect Ellie

"I don't want to cry this early!" I was tearing up the moment I started episode 5 😭the fact that they made Sam younger than his game counterpart for Ellie to become like an older sister to him made this all so much more heartbreaking

So funny how her dogs never come to comfort her. My dogs and many I saw always did that. But I guess they are so used to hear her crying they are just like: "oh come on human, again? Get over it!" 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you for sticking with this series! I think what's great about the sad and infuriating moments (Frank and Bill, Kathleen, Henry and Sam, etc.) is that no story is in vain. All the themes that we previously encounter will always somehow come back. In the end, it's all a motif for Ellie and Joel's story, and about the show's central theme... how far we'd go for the people we love.
