8th Grade Math 2.1b, Exploring Properties of Integer Exponents

The Multiplication Property of Exponents is also called the Product Rule for Exponents in some Algebra textbooks. The property states when multiplying "like bases", we add their exponents. Be careful, we don't multiply the bases, we just add the exponents when the bases are the same. We show how the exponent only affects the base it is next to. If the exponent is outside of parentheses, it affects everything within the parentheses. We show how we can raise a power to a power by multiplying exponents. We show how these rules also apply if the exponents are negative.

Two problems are incorrect.
9:32
-(4)^2 = -16....the negative sign is on the outside. The power of 2 only applies to what's inside parentheses one time.
9:45
-4^2 = -16. Negative 4 only applies to base one time since no parentheses.
