In this survival challenge, my girlfriend and I get dropped off on an abandoned island with no food or no water and see if we can survive the day. Trying to make drinking water from saltwater, gathering food, and finding coconuts o this tiny island. survival challenges like this are my favorite. ENJOY.

You need to boil up water under the glass bottle to avoid breaking and tilt it so steam does not have to travel so far. The recipient bottle needs to be placed in wet sand to cool steam. By doing this you will speed up the process and get more fresh water

To improve upon the water distillation: Take another bottle (you got plenty of them), fill it with salt water (you got plenty of that too), and pour this water into the sand surrounding the collection vessel. This will cool down this vessel and the contained steam much better than the air alone. Even when the cooling water gets hot, it will evaporate and thus take a lot of heat away. If you want to increase your yield even further, just regularly pour more salt water, e.g. if the sand dries. You could also bury the collecting bottle a little deeper to give it more surface area for this water cooling. Essentially, this simple trick will result in a higher productivity of fresh/distilled water.

Mate, these videos are picking me up. I grew up around Copacabana beach ( NSW Central Coast), I remember leaving these areas with a few friends and going into the National parks on the coast and doing these short survival treks! Remember eating shell meat - Pippis off the rocks! Also spent a bit of time on Torres Straits Islands. Here I am in built up London, missing the Asia Pacific/Oceania big time!
