Nice! reminds me a bit of Mental Blocks. I wonder how this scales down for 2p.

It seems like the stability of the board is an issue (though it is a prototype) and also an unnecessary gimmick for table presence. You could just have the top board sitting on the table beside the bottom board and avoid the possibility of someone accidently knocking their hand into it when reaching underneath to draw cards or excavate blocks or by placing blocks on the top and disturbing all of the previously placed blocks.
