As my old foreman would say, "congratulations, you just knackered your torx bit."

With this much head/shaft exposed, pliers would have been your better option. If there's not enough shaft to get a decent grip, use a hacksaw to cut a straight groove then use a slotted screwdriver to remove it.

But you should NEVER hammer shit that isn't specifically designed to be hammered. Very bad habit to get into.

Vice grips they're great for getting screws or bolts out if you have some of the head out.

Yea that’s a way, but a lot of the shank is exposed and not a lot of people have or need a specialty bit set, so an even cheaper way is use pliers or vise grips on the exposed shank.. on a side note, I’ve never ever used a step drill and I am a machinist.. besides really thin soft metal it’s a worthless tool unless I guess it’s like a single flute countersink

To akurat nie $ruba a wkręt. Prawdziwy rzemieślnik by o tym wiedział. Niech tacy rzemieślnicy rjak ten robią tak u siebie. Ja podziękuję. Wolę to zrobić fachowo. Poza tym po co się pierdolić wkrętarką skoro wkręt wystaje kilka cm ponad deskę.
