Terraria 1.4.4 - ALL weapon reworks. Terraria 1.4.4 the labour of love update is here! And comes with a plethora of new weapon reworks which completely shake up the balance of the game! In todays video, we take a brief look at each of the major weapon reworks and my thoughts on them!
The Terra Blade, True Night's Edge, True Excalibur and the Nights edge or some of the most noticeable weapons. Be sure to stay tuned for a bunch more videos on these weapons that'll go more in depth.

The new melee rework is absolutely phenomenal, but what I didn't realize is the new flamethrower animation, it looks so good now!

In its current state, the horseman’s blade might actually be a decent sidegrade to the starlight in a true melee-only run.

These reworks are awesome and really make these classic weapons more lively, but I’m kinda gonna miss things like the old Terra Blade.

The Lights Bane's slash can actually vary in size unlike the Muramasa's and the Blood Butcherer can do similar stacking dmg to the Tentacle Spike

I feel like considering the influx waver was terra blade’s rival, it should be true melee as an opposite/alternative option for it.
+its projectile would fit as true melee

The biggest rework is actually the immunity frames.

For melee weapons, they changed the melee hit to use local immunity frames while the projectile uses static (by default)

This means your melee hit will deal damage as well as the projectile. Previously, because they share the immunity, only the melee hit will register, completely ignoring the piercing damage the projectile does, which makes you lose dps significantly

I've noticed that vampire knives have a smaller spread of projectiles
I guess it was to make it more reliable for accuracy
I actually like this change

What I cannot get over is them changing Fiery Greatsword to Volcano. I didn't know they did that until just now, and my jaw actually dropped.

The new projectiles for the Terra Blade looks straight out of a mod and looks beautiful

The horseman’s blade has always been my favorite sword, now it looks like it will be better than ever. I definitely agree with the statue nerf, because that strategy was quite OP (insert video of Mappygaming killing Betsy in 1 frame)

I love all these changes, especially for melee weapons. The general balance chages to stats are a welcome addtion too ofc 😁

The Terra Blade defiantly feels more melee since the range was nerfed dramatically. I personally think the new Terra Blade is better in every way compared to the old one. Better visuals, better projectile, and its finally a weapon people will go out of their way to get because it is so unique now. The only thing I would change is I would add a right click ability that would make it true melee and deal double the damage and increased true melee reach. Other than that, 10/10 rework. They need to make more melee weapons this awesome!

I'm super glad they added these energy particles that go beyond the actual size of the blades (letting true melee actually have *some* distance to the extremely high contact damage of bosses) but I do wish they went the extra mile that Calamity does in allowing you to aim your swing omnidirectionally. Being stuck with an overhead swing every time feels so restrictive.

Im so glad that the devs made this update to the game before calling it quits. Melee weapons were never really optimal for boss fights, and were strictly outperformed by the other classes. Now melee weapons actually cover your entire body, and have enough range for you to actually use them against bosses without taking constant damage. Couldn't have asked for a better rework

I haven’t played terraria since 1.2.3 and I’m glad I started to play again right in this version, it feels so refreshing all the new stuff and the very welcome quality of life changes while the difficulty is more or less the same as I remembered

So basically every weapon from terra-blade crafting recipe got nerfed with the terra blade as well. The only difference is the og night's edge which now feels like a calamity weapon in prehardmode.
The worst nerf is definitely the terra blade, it's easier to control the weapon now but the dps loss is pretty big and noticeable now.
My time to kill moon lord with it changed dramastically, even tho it is easier now to hit him with new projectile.
Love the desing, i would only crank the numbers on terra blade a bit higher.
