Utility of the Birch Tree

Fieldcraft Survival Instructor and resident bushcrafter @estelawilded explains the utility of the birch tree. Birch can be used to construct containers, make snow goggles, extract oil from it, tap for drinking water, and of course firestarting. Estela demonstrates how birch is an excellent flame extender using a piece of paper birch. While birch doesn't grow everywhere in the country, it is good to recognize while in the wild as a solution to many problems.
