Gujarat Assembly elections, which were held in two phases on December 1 and 5, will be released tomorrow, December 8. The counting of votes will begin at 8 a.m. at 37 counting centres covering Gujarat's 182 Assembly seats. Postal ballots will be counted first, followed by electronic voting machines (EVMs) for counting. Gujarat has traditionally seen a battle between the BJP and the Congress, but this time the state is expected to see a three-cornered battle between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the BJP, and the Congress. The BJP had 110 seats in the House as of this month's elections, while the Congress had 60. In the last five years, 20 MLAs who had won on Congress seats had switched over to the BJP, with three of them quitting just before the elections.
