Around Texas with Chancellor John Sharp - Season 1 Episode 4

Texas A&M University – and the Bush School of Government and Public Service, in particular – has been a favorite place of the CIA to recruit agents and analysts.

Professor Jim Olson is a big reason for that. Jim is a professor at the Bush School, where he teaches courses on intelligence and counterintelligence. He also is a former spy.

Chancellor Sharp sat down with Jim at the Bush School. They touched on a lot of topics such as catching spies, Olson’s book: To Catch a Spy: The Art of Counterintelligence, and China’s efforts to steal our intellectual property and how it threatens our national security.

In the episode, you will hear some incredible stories about now-declassified CIA cases. Also, former presidential advisor and cabinet member Andy Card discusses Jim’s legacy and the importance of the Bush School.

Jim has been a Guest Speaker at the Lockheed Martin Insider Threat Awareness Guest Speaker Series and we hope he will be a repeat performer. Love his books and they were mandatory reading as part of our curriculum in my Masters program at the National American University and my degree in Strategic Intelligence

If it is Bush School, then it can only be a good thing. Because not everyone in high positions will perceive and conceive something, he termed points of light, in other words, how a blessing can become a blessing to others. This is a sign of blessed souls who were not hungry for themselves, but for others.

Interesting presentation but he speaks from the perspective of a typical case officer in his blind spots about other counterintelligence areas outside of the case officer stuff. Counterintelligence investigators, referents, analysts, and functional services personnel all have their own missions.

Right now I have been burned, I am requested for all of you to help me to stop the people who were burning my brain inside . I had been burned for more than 5 months continuously by my neighbors for I take it to a territory. I'm around the Mt Holly area. I came to notice they want to kill me to be honest.

Would have liked to have heard the storyline, but the frequency of TA&M advertising vignettes, was just too darn disconcerting….
