Indian Ringneck Owner, what has been your experience owning these parrots?

They are very intelligent, i got my first one this year and he already knows how to open doors, drawers, locks, you name it. I taught him none of this. He learned to do all these thing on his own. Im lucky hes a lover not a fighter cuz sometimes i just find him chilling in someone elses cage 😅 he likes slumber parties

As a new indian ringneck owner, I found this to be the most helpful description of this bird. Very informative and balanced.

I have an IRN who is 16 and I got her when she was a baby. So glad you emphasised the bluffing stage. It is really a highly testing time but once you are through the other end, it is so rewarding. I have the sweetest, funniest, cuddly girl. Apparently even the avian vet says they have not met an IRN Like mine being super sweet, super chill and cuddly. Cuddles is all she wants, they want to be with you the time doing what you do, I can do anything with her, lie on her back for tummy scratches but apparently it’s not normal for this breed. Loves to play games, fetch, hide and seek, just being curious and exploring.
One thing to point out is how strongly they imprint on you. It’s important to keep them well socialised for their mental health. It’s something I actively do as my worry is how she will do if something happens to me, I want her to be ok since she sees me as her life partner.

I love Omar's. I have bought several parrots from them, and they quickly developed into sweet, affectionate pets.

Ringnecks compete with licensed opium farmers for 'harvest', as they seem to know the perfect time to chomp the pods off of the plant, and to make their get-away with an extra length of the straw (as the straw contains opium, too). They then fly off to their respective trees, get "bombed", pass out, and fall to the ground...

Ringnecks are my favorite inside bird. I had 2ringnecks many years ago. I moved and couldn't take them with me. I miss them.

I used to have one. They can be very loud and do have a musty smell.
They are so beautiful and I love all the colors they come in.

I was the lucky owner of an Albino Ringneck, who was the most adorable and cuddly bird I ever had.Ive had budgies, lovebirds and loved them all, but my ring neck was the the most affectionate of them all.Loud, yes lol but as far as temperament went and closeness to me, was amazing.I could handle her, never got bitten, others did lol , loved being with me and I did with her, after she died I vowed Id never have any other bird, but have now adopted a green cheeked conure, arriving tomorrow lol x

Watching this with my Blue IRN on my lap. Yes they need a lot of attention. I think it deserves a higher score but I'm biased! Great video. Ty

I grew up with a yellow cheeked Amazon parrot named Max. He was so funny, I miss that bird.

Absolutely love your informative videos! Look forward to more! I own IRNs and I belive they can be really affectionate and cheeky pets, if they have been properly handfed and socialised. So a lot depends on the breeder. Also, we need to interact with them on a regular basis to sustain the attachment. My IRNs do not scream; they are closely bonded with other medium sized parrots and lead quite interesting fun-filled lives.

I love that you did this video Clint’s reptile style it makes it a really fun way to learn about these birds!! And 2k is not bad for an awesome buddy to talk to. I have seen snakes go for that much and they have 0 personalities.

I love your videos and you are very informative. You were actually the reason why I decided against getting an IRN at first. But then I found one close by and it was only 4 weeks old when I got him. We are in the bluffing stage right now. It's truly rough. I get bit constantly but it's worth it in the long run. 🖤
