'Can't Just Be Your Friend' happened very naturally from an acoustic guitar riff we were messing around with during a writing session and expresses the idea that a relationship without intimacy couldn't be possible moving forward. Capturing the difficulty of getting over someone and how often we reach for alcohol to cope with our life situations was the idea I wanted each listener to reflect upon.
