I've been on the keto eating plan / intermittent fasting/one meal a day for over a year now...plenty of vegetables, healthy fats, moderate protein & no carbs. Dropped 22lbs of belly fat effortlessly, increased mental & spiritual capacity, much calmer overall. Better inner focus in prayer.

I was already wanted to do this fast, but will try for 40 days I have alot to pray for all those in need in my family .. and pray to God almighty to answer my prayers. But thanx for this video .. I love humus too😄✝️🙏

I did not realize how addicted to coffee I was until this fast. The first two days of being caffeine free were delirious - dizzy, nauseous, lethargic, flu like symptoms. On day three I emerged with a clear head and body. I am feeling better than I have in a long time. I removed the Keurig coffee maker from my kitchen today.

Our Polish priest commented in a homily that you can live on good bread. Although it probably isn't included in the Daniel Fast I've been making whole grain bread in my Breadmaker and it's very filling. Oatmeal is also very good ( not the instant kind) and so are baked potatoes. There's some of us that can't digest beans or lentils very well, but I do like your suggestions. Oranges too are healthy and filling. When I fast though I just eat 2 snacks and a sparse dinner, all that I can do at 75 and offering it up for the Pope on Fridays. But can't do this 3 days a week.

Like, you calling this a Daniel FEAST, I'm calling these 21 days Advent Preparation and Training for Jesus's Birthday season" I found tremendous Daniel Fast soup recipes....perfect for cool temps! Thank you Father, yes I've been enjoying my Daniel fast or I should say feast . I've have mentioned this to my neighbors and to my priest at my congregation St Benedict, I hope they took my advice cuz I love it thank you so much for turning me on to it matter of fact it's Tuesday I'm going to go home and eat some sunflower seeds peanuts or something and read the book of Daniel again . Homemade salad mixed- spinach with avocado and golden raisins with walnuts. Steamed cabbage, cauliflower rice, string beans. Asian apple pears, strawberries, cutie oranges. I make my own trail mix- almonds, dried pineapples, sunflower seeds with banana chips.
I wish I can do a straight Daniel fast because I know my soul will benefit from it but health problems limit me.
But anyway, even though I’m fasting, I’m still happy 😃 because as a Catholic, lent means joyously sad, and life as we reflect and remember Jesus’ dying and rising from the dead.

I'm a vegan, so you are speaking my language! If you're having fruit smoothies, throw in a handful (or two) of baby spinach and a couple of Medjool dates if you have a sweet tooth like me - or - a little maple syrup. So good! You can also sprinkle in a little chia seeds or flax seeds for extra protein, fiber, omega3 and antioxidants. Whole, natural almonds and raw cashews are among my favorites, as well. And hummus is a staple for either using as a dip for veggies or as a spread on whole wheat bread or in a wrap when I make a veggie sandwich (in which I use: spinach, shredded carrots, tomatoes, pickles/jalapenos and avocado).

Peanut butter on a spoon is good too, Fr. Mark! Salted plantain chips are my go to for a snack. And salted dried green peas - delicious!

I have become a wholefood plant based vegan permanently for nearly 2 years now and feel wonderful. In the book of Genesis God created the trees and the plants ....and they are thy food & thy medicine. I feel closer to God spiritually as I know I am not hurting His beautiful animals and exposing them to horrid mistreatment (factory farming) which I am sure dismays our sweet Lord!

Still easing into this. Eating more vegetables and had lentils and chickpeas but I was finishing corned beef from St. Patrick’s Day. Eating carrots, apples and salads but also a little fish.

This is the first time I've ever done a fast, so thank you for the invitation to join you. I've been mainly eating flavorful, colorful salads, adding beans, nuts or chick peas for protein. For me, variety is the key and not a lot amount of prep work I bring fruit for snacks. Tonight, I made a spicy lentil curry dish. Hope it is good. :)
