I’ve heard yes it’s amazing for making power but I’ve also been told the 2jz is the way to go for more reliable power but been told b58s power is unmatched except for that they don’t like high power for long periods of time

B58 been out almost 8 years, not 3 lol. Different generations yes, but the progression is unreal, if the S3 or C43 were as popular they would have made similar progression considering they all have motors good for about 500-600 whp & torque with the right mods. The B58s are significantly cheaper to mod tho..

If by modern you mean very technically supportive and superior from the get go...
Then yes.
There are a few i6 engines built post 2000 that can match it.
But not in from the get go technology etc engine management etc.

All depends on a budget. And i believe if it's a bmw engine found in a pretty expensive car. So it should be technically superior and expensive to go even further etc.
Where as a Ford 4l Barra, opposite end
Yes great engine. But alot cheaper to buy, buy vehicle with engine already equipped and or to build.

JDM new platforms are dead long time except the GTR R35. They try so hard to market the new BMW cars, and push their motor agenda they make fool of themselves. When something is good it speaks itself through racing and time.
