The Three Times Jesus Wept In Scripture

There are three times in the recorded Scripture we read about Jesus crying 😢

They all happened the same area and had a recurring theme.

Jesus wept over Lazarus, and he was resurrected.

He wept over the reality of the death He would face, and He was resurrected.

And we are believing for a day when Jerusalem, the city Jesus wept over, also experiences resurrection!

Good morning from Appalachia. I’m reading in Luke 19 where Jesus weeps. I googled ‘how many times does Jesus weep? It took me to you. Thank you for your insight!

A Christian attorney friend challenged me when I said Lazarus was resurrected.

He explained the vast difference between rising from the dead and resurrection. Lazarus got his regular body back. Light and energy passed into and thru Jesus’ body when he left the grave. Also, Lazarus would eventually dies again. Blessings!

I do not believe Jesus wept simply because His friend Lazarus died. Jesus was human and LOVES His children. The family of Lazarus was grieving for their loss and Jesus was moved and grieved with them even though as God He KNEW He was about to raise Lazarus from the dead. What we are going through matters to the Lord. ❤
