I just started using the "Prepare" tab. It comes in handy when you get requests at gigs. Just drag the song into the tab and it'll save the song for later when you're ready to play the song 🙌🏾

I've been DJing for 4-5 years and never knew what a lot of these settings did.... so thank you!

CEE B,
Thank You Very Much for making this vid and all the others. I haven't used Serato for years and I want to get back into DJing, so this has been a HIUGE help.

Thanks Again Bud!

Performance Pad view goes back to Scratch Live.. The cue points were sorted that way before DJ Controllers were a thing… When DJ Controllers became more popular, Serato wanted the layout to match the pads, but also didn’t want to piss off people who were used to that layout. I didn’t mind it, but swapped it when I got a controller as I liked it to match what was on the hardware….it did take some getting used to, but at the end of the day, I am glad I switched. However, I get why people don’t change things… as I am usually in that school of thought, but this made sense to me…. This has been your old man DJ history Bonus fact… really old sub controllers, like Dicers and HCS1000 had the cue points in stacked order as well… which is probably why Scratch Live even had them setup in this fashion in the 1st place…..

A few other posts here have mentioned it already but what is bang on here is the no-nonsense descriptions. So many other tutorials make wild assumptions about viewers' pre-existing knowledge. This tutorial is clear and concise and the video editing supports the commentary brilliantly. Had no idea about 'auto gain' (😬) but, since I like to play a lot of old school house tracks, it's really handy to know. (That said, I guess I have got to know the tracks well enough now!) Just one thing, it's "turned" not "turnt" 😬. Great video. I've subscribed.

When activating “Playback Use Shift” I’ve found that when you turn on “Caps Lock” you won’t have to hit shift to activate your sound effects or cue points. It’s a quick way to bypass hitting shift.

I like the play count on because sometimes I wanna bring the crowd back into it and the ones I play the most are the ones that get the party going

All tips were helpful. The reset tracks feature is what I was looking for.

you missed Cmd Z undoes a track load, if you were to load on the wrong deck. lifesaver.
