Dark tries something very special: The fictional GWR 'Cathedral' Pacific!

Commissioned from Caledonia Works by myself (Dark DJ Productions), Rhys Davies of Angry Welshman Productions, Oliver Pocock, Andy Stovold of Steaming Westard Productions and Chris Rasmussen of EpicBanastard for Train Simulator, this is an incredibly exciting moment for all of us and we are thrilled to have helped to bring this fictional design to life!

We cannot wait for you all to experience the power of the Cathedral! With special thanks to Kris Wilson of Caledonia Works and Gwion Rhys Davies of SimNation for making this possible!

Purchase the Hawksworth 'Cathedral' from Caledonia Works, soon to be avaliable for TS2021!

Genuinely a very interesting look at what I think would have been Hawksworth best design. The visuals are stunning the abridged history is interesting and I'll definitely treat myself to this stunning piece of DLC

Excellent and quite believable. Lots of Stanier Princess influence in there! Which is the wheel turned full circle really since Stanier went to the LMS after working for the GWR...

In my sodor AU Only 2 cathedrals were built In 1947. 8000. And 8001. They were both built As prototypes. 8000 had 2 cylinders while 8001 was experimentally fitted with 3. Although this was later removed when British railways Was formed. They were both withdrawn in 1966. But both are preserved 8000 is owned by the National railway museum. 8001 went to sodor. In 1967. And became part of the Vickerstown railway museum. If you're wondering why 2 were only built That's because British railways was not interested in building more. Because the cathedrals although were very powerful and efficient And reliable. We're actually quite expensive to build by the great Western.

Excellent production, really well made. I enjoy hearing the fictional tales you have for various locomotives. Another fine model from Caledonia Works, the bar raises with every be release!

A very interesting concept and I really like the history you guys came up with. Until you mentioned it was looking at it thinking it had a similar look to a LMS princess

I think another name that could be used for one of the engines is Norwich Cathedral (for obvious reasons)

This is a beautiful model. Not sure if what if models are a way to go. There are so many steam locos that actually existed and not modelled.
The preview certainly inclines me to buy it. It is a shame that it does not come with a few scenarios though.

I have a hope that this appears but either it is a new build or its has been on display outside of Walschurch Cathedral and it had been decided to be restored to working order

I’m really sorry I missed this live. But I’m so glad you made this. It’s a beautiful engine and I love the backstory you’ve come up with. I wish these had been built as it would’ve look fantastic on the line.
The production values for these are fantastic. Well done for all the hard work that has been done by Chris and the rest of the team. They look like real engines.

I have commissioned a model Cathedral Class for my railway. It will be 8013 St. Paul's Cathedral in experimental BR Apple Green

Is it normal that I really want to a Hornby LMS Princess Royal and a GWR King class, modify the Princess a little bit repaint it into a GWR livery, BR livery or a custom livery and give it new name plates and number to get a custom cathedral model or is it just me? Cause honestly I really love the Cathedrals' model. They are absolutely gorgeous.

Would be bloody good if your model 8025 makes it into TDRS one day, but I doubt it very much unless there's a back story like Zeke found a set of blueprints or frames to build one.

Wait does this mean Alfred from tales of new Wessex is going to die

Not going to lie but then look like the princesse class.

i have something that would be a pretty cool design.
its a streamlined cathedral however the streamlining will be more similar to the A4 Pacific class and i think that this streamlined cathedral could reach upto 123 MPH.
just a thought and idea.

you and your friends did a very good job with this engine. Will you be doing any other unbuilt engines? Like the Horwich Mallet 0-6-6-0 or the LNER's Gresley 4-8-2s?
