Nowadays it takes Toyota 3 years to work out first year model bugs. Examples: The engine and transmission woes of the 2012 Camry weren't fixed until 2015. The engine woes of the 2022 Tundra weren't fixed until just recently when the 2025 model came out.

Just too expensive. Despite the legendary reliability, longevity and resale value "sticker shock" for a well equipped Tacoma is simply forgettable. Forget it.

Toyota needs better interior quality. The top trd models should have the option to get one of the tundra engines. They need to fix their bump stop ussues as well as their manual and automatic transmission issues. Isodynamuc seats need to be an iption, and also belong more in the xtracab, seeing as how you basically lose your rear seats with them.

Dropping the V6 did not help just like Ram who dropped the V8 sending V8 fans to Ford and GM. I would buy the Nissan with V6 before this Toyota.

It's simple no one wants a 4 cylinder turbo junk they will not last as long this is a downgrade. Ask any mechanic! small turbo gas engines do not last! People like to compare them to diesels in semi trucks and how long they run for they seem to forget the obvious they are diesel and have a much larger diesel engine. Also no one wants a hybrid truck! it adds a costly expense down the road. And then they like to blame the EPA yet all the other truck brands still have a V6 or even a V8 up!!!
