Yamaha Ténéré World Raid Team Take on New African Adventure

Africa, the spiritual home of the Yamaha Ténéré, will provide the backdrop for the new Yamaha Ténéré World Raid Team as they take on the challenge of the 2022 Africa Eco Race, which runs from Monaco to the legendary finish in Dakar, Senegal from October 15 - 30.

Italian Alessandro Botturi, winner of the previous two editions of the race, and Spaniard Pol Tarres will contest the 14th edition of the rally aboard a race version of the recently launched Ténéré 700 World Raid.

The new Rally program will also mark the start of a partnership with Riders for Health, a very special sponsor that Yamaha is proud to host on the Ténéré World Raid Team to raise awareness of the tremendous work carried out by the charity supplying, managing and maintaining motorcycles for health-focused operations in Africa.

I've been watching Pol for years. He's hands down one of my favorite to watch. I've also been wanting for the World Raid to show ups in the 🇺🇸! It is so damn neat to see the changes that yamaha has made in the last few years form their mx bikes my son's riding to the adv bikes I'm now looking at.

I thought 450 CC's was the Maximum allowed in these races? I like the front engine protestion and skid plate, nice and clean.

Bike looks awesome!! Can you give details on the bikes appearance? I see the seatcover and the carter protector is from gpmucci? The dashboard is completely replaced, with what, why? Front fender looks super sweet! What is the diameter of the front fork. What rear shock is used? Why does the steer look so much higher? What diameter is that single front brake disc? Is the gearbox standard? What sprockets are used? Why isn’t that lighter headlight equipped like mentioned in one of the gpmucci/tenere videos? What tires are on the wheels? Are the wheels standard? What did you guys do with the engine? How much power does is output? What is the max rpm? What is the engines life expectancy? What is fuel is used? What is the fuel consumption?

Hey Yamaha, these bikes appear to have a lot better and bigger suspension than the production bikes. Its a shame your so conservative and not fitted this suspension to the world raid production bikes and left the standard tenere for the less serious off-roaders. There are lots of riders who ride hard you know.

You totally lost the plot stopping real rally raid with the 450s. What a shame. This is just another marketing bs gimmick. Japan has lost its way to react quick, no innovation just sitting ducks. So sad . You are such an iconic brand.
