Watching how fragile happiness is, and how life beating you down has made the bar for happiness unreasonably low, and the vast distance between a moment of happiness and an enduring routine of happiness can make happiness itself depressing.

I watched the entire series for the first time only recently. Loved it and to my eyes and ears, it was relevant in the period it was filmed and holds up well in retrospect. However, it was very disappointing to me it ended after 3 seasons and the 3rd was not even a full season. Perhaps this comes off as arbitrary, but to me, it “felt like” the series should’ve ran its course in 5 full seasons. It amazes me Sorkin is/was the sole writer.
