Morning Routine RV Life:
Well the first thing we do in the morning is wake up. I always laugh at these shots because it’s like… did you have the camera rolling all night? Did you get out of bed, turn the camera on, and then pretend like you are sleeping? Yup – here – the moment we woke up I got out of bed, turned on the camera and crawled back in.
TRIPPED TRAVEL GEAR
We make and sell travel products on Amazon. They’re totally rad.
MORNING ROUTINE
Well the first thing we do in the morning is wake up. I always laugh at these shots because it’s like… did you have the camera rolling all night? Did you get out of bed, turn the camera on, and then pretend like you are sleeping? Yup – here – the moment we woke up I got out of bed, turned on the camera and crawled back in.
Tim paired taking Pepper out (and making sure she got plenty of exercise before a long day of driving) with unhooking the RV and prepping the outside. The main duties here if we are at an RV park are to unplug the RV, unhook sewer which is only hooked up if we’ve been staying somewhere for a long period of time, and managing our water supply. If we have a long drive we don’t want a super full tank of water (to drive with the weight), but if we are boondocking the next few nights we need to make sure to have the amount of water we’ll need. We measure our water level on our control panel inside.
While Tim is outside I am happy to be responsible for “inside” duties. Maximizing water availability, I’ll fill up our water bottles and get our driver and passenger stations ready to go. I put the water bottles up front with us – and then fill up two thermoses with our favorite hot beverages – we both prefer tea over coffee.
Next, to prep the RV to be driven, there’s always some tiding up to do as well as clearning all the counter tops: taking our toothbrushes and soap off the bathroom counter so it doesn’t slide off an make a mess while we’re driving, as well as the fruit bowl and soap on the kitchen counter. We also usually have a few other surfaces to clear off if we have the Bluetooth speaker or a candle out from the night before.
Eating a nice breakfast before we get on the road is part of our morning routine because then not EVERY meal we’re eating in a day is behind the wheel.
The very last two “to-do list items” are to bring in the slide of the RV. We save this until the very end because there is such a difference to our living space when the slide is in vs. out. And this is just a quick mention to anyone shopping for an RV – the slide makes all the difference in the world. Get a slide. The second the slide comes in we’re bumping in to each other – ‘scuse me, pardon me, stepping on Pepper, its’ really frustrating to get anything done or to get from one side of the RV to the other.
Once the slide is in we can pull up the jacks. Our RV has manual jacks that slide down from the bottom of the RV and help you level out the rig in your parking space. (The slide can only go out/in if the rig is completely level). This is another feature that we didn’t realize was suuuch a “nice-to-have” in the RV after we saw loads of RVers getting out of the rig in the rain fumbling with orange lego-looking levelers and rolling back and forth to find a level solution ---- nah nah no.
