Scotland has been hit with widespread travel disruption as dangerous conditions are expected across the country from midnight.
The Met Office confirmed a yellow weather warning is set to come into force across the whole of Scotland from midnight on Wednesday and is due to last until around 9pm on Thursday.
Gusts reaching 50-60mph are expected widely, and even 70-80mph winds could hit populated areas.
The weather network said there is a chance that injuries and “danger to life” could occur, and that short term loss of power and other services could also be expected.
The stormy weather is causing travel disruption to road, rail and ferry transport.
