Widespread travel disruption as the UK breaks temperature records | 5 News

► Travel has been widely disrupted, with services being delayed or cancelled all over. Network Rail announced they had recorded a rail temperature in Suffolk of 62 celcius.

Sharon Thomas was at Euston Station, which has cancelled all rail journeys.

SE trains don’t have air con and if they do it doesn’t work. On a day that we were told to only travel if necessary, I was forced to go to London yesterday and it was hell, 30 degs at 8 in the morning and nearly 40 on the way home at 12:30, my train ride is only 25-30 mins and I had my fans and water but could barely walk by the time I got off I was so hot (I am in my 60’s and slightly overweight but not massively)

@2:12 Rubbish -- The Victorians built a rail network around the world India, Africa etc . The hottest days of the last century the rail network worked perfectly well, using expansion gaps.

Aside from which, if you go on holiday to a hotter country, do you expect to have water handed out?! Idiot! 😡
