Is Cloning Ethical?

Science has unlocked the secret of cloning genetic material using it to artificially reproduce many different types of mammals. It's only a matter of time before humans are cloned. What do we make of this inevitability?

Cloning fruit, on the other hand, is perfectly ethical. That's where seedless fruit comes from. As someone who has texture sensitivity problems that make eating certain things difficult, seedless fruit is a Godsend. Now if only there were seedless kiwifruit...
Also plants are absurdly easy to clone, since plant biology is, well, pretty darn weird.

Also I wonder about if it is ethical to just grow organs in isolation, since stem cells (the things needed for cloning) can be gotten from, say, the heart, liver, etc. This makes cloning human embryos for "therapeutic cloning" especially cruel, since it's completely unnecessary and only causes suffering.

This may be a dumb question, but what is the case of a cloned person soul wise? Would they have the same soul as a human made under normal circumstances?

Very well said. Although I was kind of hoping for a comment on animal cloning. There has been talk of using cloning to save endangered species, bring back extinct animals, or even make a new version of a beloved pet. While human cloning is clearly wrong, I wish I knew the stance on these other types.

If this is not possible to stop, I'm wondering if it's possible to preemptively push for a law to grant potential human clones of all human rights, and possibly that cloners would require parents willing to adopt the clone.

No figure in religion could ever tell me otherwise. Denying the validity and personhood of a person based solely on the circumstances of their birth is downright immoral if you ask me.
