Too hard for the kids. Heck, it's too hard for most people. It involves 2nd law of thermodynamics ( conduction from warmer area to cooler area ) and evaporation ( decrease of water kinetic energy on the cloth as water on it evaporates into the air - cloth gets cooler). Therefore, the water in the bottle got cooler (until the cloth is dried out).
