Banning TikTok means making sure that all sellers from the USA can't withdraw any money into their bank account with TikTok. Otherwise it has no purpose. Those sellers just need to go to other platforms from the USA itself.

If China told Musk, or Tim that Tesla or Apple needs to be sold to a Chinese company would they do it? What if instead of "selling" they just made the company public offering of just Tik Tock as an IPO? Less money loss that way, because if they sold to an American company I am assuming it would be at a loss.

If China ever target Tesla or Apple, it won't be because of tiktok. For one thing, I don't think they can really prevent Americans from accessing tiktok. Even if tiktok is not in playstore, people can still install and update tiktok through other means. But China can target Tesla or/and Apple if Trump raise the tariff.
