Just came across trhis after a lot of searching. Thanks a lot. I recently flashed OMV 6 on a Pi 4 and just couldn't get the samba share to work. Can see the Pi in Windows 11 but can't map a drive even smb1 is enabled. This did the trick. Thanks again.

The Solution Worked Perfectly. Up till Windows v1909, the SMB seems to work. The older versions of Windows 10 need to only have the SMB and SMB Direct Selected inside 'Turn Windows Components On/Off' from Control Panel-> Programs as shown in this video.
However, Windows 10 v2004, 20H1, or May 2020 Cumulative Feature Update somehow keeps breaking the SMB pathways.
This method appears to bypass the SMB methodology and goes direct to Network Access and Once Successfully Link Is Established, the Shared Folders can be Mapped ANY WHICH WAY.

Thank you for this. I have mapped the drives which also does the same job. Any idea how I can access my file shares on Kodi. Everything was working but then something changed and it disappeared.

My SMB server on OMV stopped working over WAN, it works fine on LAN, but WAN stopped working and all settings are the same (ports forwarded etc) any ideas?

There is no f way... :D I was always activate SMB1, like u shown at the beginning and the key problem was just one \ at the end :D thank you

SMB 1.0 not exist in my choise menu, I don't see raspberry folder :(

Thanx again for the instructive tutorial. Anyhow, it doesn't seems to work in my case.
After i write \\192.168.0.xx\ in my file explorer, Windows give me an error that it can't acces to it.
Maybe you know a turn around ?
Is Samba something that I need to instal on my pc?
