If you are really that concerned, couldn't you theoretically sanitize your makeup with a UVC light? Wouldn't be perfect, but it seems less likely to impact the product.

I clean the packaging sometimes & the container I keep my eyeliner, mascara & concealer in. Oh and by brushes & eyelash curler. I never considered cleaning the makeup itself lol
