DRAG RACE!! PORSCHE 992 TURBO S vs 991 GT2 RS

We put the 2020 Porsche 992 Turbo S up against the 991 GT2 RS in a drag race! Conditions weren't ideal which should favour the 992 Turbo S which has 4WD. However the 991 GT2 RS has a power advantage and is lighter. What will happen??

Turbo s was quicker off the line but was reeled in by the rs which looked consistent with the rs being 170 kg lighter and 50 BHP more

As the driver of the Turbo S I don’t mind admitting defeat. That GT2 RS is the daddy of 911’s after all. As Mark has said, safety was paramount. Mine was lighting the tyres up in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears so to put the GT2 in the left-hand lane would have been a crazy decision.

This was a whole lot of fun!! A big thanks to Mark and his team for setting this up! Also a big thank you to the owners of the two cars for bringing them along and being such great sports! These sorts of YouTube video's take a huge amount of time / effort and money to produce... so all credit to Mark for making these events happen so we can all enjoy it! We cannot legislate for the weather in the UK - but overall - this was a great video this one!

Awesome video. Well done. Nobody will ever be really happy moaning about the Turbo S “wet lane” but I think the GT2 RS had a much bigger disadvantage being RWD. Great matchup

Dont get how people are complaining about the Turbo S being in the 'wet' lane when it would be even worse for the 2RS. Makes sense to put the 4wd in the more challenging condition when given the option. At least it gives the 2RS a fighting chance.

I’ve seen a few comments on here complaining that the runway was wet on my side.

We turned up on the day and there had been a considerable amount of rain overnight that wasn't forecast...should we have just cancelled and wasted everyone’s time and money?

Have a think about how much time and effort @888MF put in to organising this. Booking the runway. Booking the cars. Organising photographers and film crew. Editing. Taking time off work (believe it or not, running our cars up and down runways doesn’t pay the bills...)

For the GT2 to win 2 out of 3 races is a testament to the car. I was at a massive advantage having 4WD but it still managed to reel me in and pass me.

Yes conditions weren't ideal, and there were time constraints. Take the drag race for what it is; entertainment.

Gt2rs is such an amazing car but wow that 992 is a sleeper. With that much more weight and 50hp less it keeps up with the rs damn close.

Both cars are so awesome! Love them both! Easily would take the GT2 RS out of the two. What a beautiful and capable car, the rear engine gives it good traction and it launched very well given the conditions. Awesome video, keep it up!

Thanks for this. I tried searching all of youtube for a turbo s vs gt2rs just yesterday and found none as good as this. I needed to see this👊🏾
