Love your editing analysis !!! Great to put words on editing techniques and the reasons why they are used in the video.

Nice video review Casey. I was reminded of watching for plosives and S's. Something I haven't watched out for in awhile. Just forgot about them. Thanks!

Casey, thank you so much for reviewing our video! I really appreciate the time and thought you put into the review. Amazing input, thank you!

Excellent video to start off with. Ashleigh is definitely talented as is her husband. One slight difference I would try from Casey's suggestion with the slightly off balance drawing at 6:13 (even if just to discount the idea), rather than crop the easel out and tilt up, or rotate the image to straighten it, I would leave them as they are and pull back slightly from the artwork so it remains the focus of the shot, but it expands the surrounding to give a little tease of the art studio, maybe with a bit of soft focus as to be accepted as a deliberate inclusion.

Very nice video. Would enjoy more. I will use your advice on making still life pans as slow as possible and be more mindful of audio quality.

dam the paint is so cool, we need a game on that location

Really appreciated this review! I'm currently learning DaVinci and I feel pressured to use the really fancy stuff in the program b/c I feel like i should. Yet something as simple as a still picture and a panning shot is just as effective. Very nice reminder!

I never thought about slowing down drone panning to what felt uncomfortably slow. It totally makes sense, great tip!

I like this format Casey :) Nice to step into a gentle critique instead of the "10 ways you screwed up" style. We get to see something we might never have come across otherwise, and we get to spend 10 minutes chatting with you too. Win.

I have to say getting audio right is perhaps the hardest part of any YouTube journey. There are so many ways to "get it right", but a lot more ways to get it wrong. So much trial and error and disappointment. Hard enough to stump up the courage to record yourself and edit yourself and listen to your voice over and over during the edits... But even worse if you messed up the audio tech. Can be hard to find a setup that works well a) with your voice b) in your space and c) with your level of fairlight skills!

This was great, Casey, and yes, please continue with this sort of thing. What'd I learn, besides everything? :-) The tip on handling vertical clips was terrific. Overall, excellent and, as always, thank you for the work.

Lots of good feedback, interesting and informative. Best tip was about slow pans, camera moves, etc. Absolutely agree, and it's my #1 thought for any series of takes where we want the camera to move. Especially when lots of this was from still images, a very slow pan is far more effective at matching the contemplative nature of the piece. The tip about filling the frame with the interest area is also solid gold basics. And, completely agree on the audio and Resolve can really tune that up. I'd have to say the music under the full video was a little less pro and found it somewhat distracting from an otherwise interesting subject.

Nice reminder about the importance of great audio in a "video".

Especially helpful to hear an analysis from your perspective. A great idea to do some really basic build ups for us amateurs. Thank you for sharing this beautiful video.
