I like the fact that Trinity's husband is Chad Stahelski, who was Keanu
Reeves's stunt double in the original Matrix and the director of John Wick

Hmmm perhaps Trinity and Neo being "the one" together also goes back to the Greek mythology where humans, that had two faces four arms and four legs, were too powerful so they were split into two- looking for their other half all their lives.... And love being the most powerful force in the universe

I'm pretty sure you're wrong about any pandemic reference. "The Viral Agent" is clearly Agent Smith who like a computer virus spread and took over the entire matrix. "Knuckle Up" is a war cry used in the original trilogy. And lastly face masks have always been common in public spaces in Japan before the pandemic.

Not sure I can explain this but I'l try anyway. Tom AKA Neo wanted to work on his new game Binary, instead of working on Matrix 4 which was all about him being "The One." The new game/this movie is about Binary or Two so in this new movie there isn't the One but the Two.

Another cool "cameo" is that the actor playing Thomas Anderson's reflection is Steven Roy, Carrie-anne Moss' husband.

This film was a comedy sketch, i want my gritty matrix back

Loved the moment when Carrie-Anne Moss took a page out of Keanu's book with her line of "My name...is Trinity."

Niobi saying knuckle up has nothing to do with Covid. It's a callback to the dock battle of Zion. Captain Mifune and his soldiers said knuckle up before raining bullets on the Sentinels..

“Knuckle up, ” is from revolutions with captain mafoonie. When he’s hyping up all the APU drivers, and the sentinels are drilling through, he yells, “KNUCKLE UP.” Like, get your guns out and ready to shoot.

The guy who played Trinity's husband was the stunt double for Keanu Reeves in the original movies. Not sure if that was a nod to a form of "replacement". Pretty sure he is also the director of the John Wick movies.

The movie spent a lot of time trying to remind us how cool the previous films were. I was a little annoyed by it to be honest.

“Knuckle up” was from the first trilogy, where they said it wearing the mech suits to fight the incoming sentinels. It didn’t have to do with the pandemic.

Matrix Resurrections works as a Matrix Trilogy dejavu film within the film and a romance film to bring Neo and Trinity back and give them a happy ending.

Another funny bit: about half the main cast of Sense8, a Netflix series produced by the Wachowski sisters, is in the film: the actors who played Capheus, Will and Daniela play Seq, Berg and Lexy from the Mnemosine crew; the actors who played Wolfgang also plays that Io guard who fanboys over Neo; the actress who played Amanita, as well as the guy who played Raj, both appear in the "Matrix" game development team scene.

I didn't expect the Merovingian to look like a Hobo...

Theres also a cameo from the guy who invented bullet time "John Gaeta"
and was the vfx supervisor on the original 3 films. In the game studio when the alarm goes off.

I have to admit that I'm fine with the new take on the story, making it meta-self referenced. I think this approach is a lot more original than trying to carbon copy the 1st Matrix and make a direct, linear continuation of the story which inherent concepts were based on a cyberpunk commentary on end of the century corporate America. 20 years have passed and the world, culturally and socially, has changed, so the writers had to adapt and come up with something new, based on the old. Fine with that, HOWEVER, the Matrix 1 is, and will forever be, a milestone in the art film making, whereas Matrix 4 is just a pasable, fun film, but that's about it. it's as if the parodic, self-referenced approach, brighter tone and excesive over-exposition prevent the film from becoming more than just a revisionist exercise.

*here's what I liked:*
- the cinematography
- Keanu and Carrie Anne's chemistry
- the cast was really great
- the concept
- the action scenes
- the nostalgia of the original matrix movies
- Keanu Reeves
*dislikes:*
- pacing is too quick near the end
- storyline isn't that great compared to the original
- didn't have the original vibes from the movie
- talking parts kinda boring
- action was cool but not as good or iconic as the original
- nothing too memorable in this movie
- the plot of just saving Trinity seems too simple for such a complex movie
- not as good as I was expecting it to be but still fun to watch
- villains are weak and the new agent Smith isn't as evil or as iconic as the original

One of the best think about Resurrections is Neil Patrick Harris. Such a goood villian.
