Hey everyone, today I’m going to voice 10 unpopular opinions that I hold for Dead by Daylight. This is just a bit of fun, and of course just my opinion. There’s going to be a lot of differing opinions on these topics, so if you do disagree, please do drop your own thoughts, down below. I by no means expect everyone to agree on these, I’m interested to see how unpopular they are. Let’s get into it.

I think almost everyone agrees that DbD needs health chapters, it's not an unpopular opinion imo

I actually like going up against a tombstone Myers because the intensity of trying to figure out why not much has happened until it’s too late

For boons, I'd be fine with them being extremely strong, as long as totems can't constantly be re-booned
The old COH effects would be fine, if you could only boon totems once for example :)
A token system with maybe 3 tokens would also work though.

Boons are fine, except that they are infinite. They need to have some sort of way to proc them, like repair a generator to get a token, and can only have a max of x tokens per game.

DS and BT in base kit would not be healthy for the game, for sure. But a perk like Kindred could go well I think

Fun fact: on mobile, circle of healing still has a 100% healing buff, but is insanely underpowered since when a killer gets within 24 meters of a boon it shows an arrow pointing towards it

The idea of merging similar and potentially weak perks together is actually quite good. There might be some interesting combinations.
As for the boon totems i rather agree with some of the other comments: They are annoying because they can be set up over and over again, affect every survivor once lit and since your time as a killer is much more precious than as a survivor, finding and extinguishing totems which are out of your way just to see them reignited a few seconds later can be frustrating.
And iredecent addons should be more impactful indeed. I mean...Huntress and Nurse got some nice ones. Oni or the Executioner on the other hand waste 7k bp everytime they have to buy them in the bloodweb :(
Good thoughts and interesting points overall though.

I agree with all exept for the artist one... I don't mind her at all, and I actually hate fighting huntress...

And i love the idea of combining overwhelming, unnerving, and distressing... I would main that perk on my Doc 100%

"YOU SUMMONED ME..."
"I CAME"
Gotta love those voice lines, absolutely amazing.

A way they could reduce the grind for perks is allow say up to 6 perks at max appear in the bloodweb and remove perk tiers

I feel like the only thing that needs to be changed on boons is you can break that totem for the rest of the trial. It seems a bit excessive putting out the fire a lot and is another way to get hex: pentimento

Iridescent add ons should be op

Myers: After stalking for some time can literally 1 shot kill survivors

Pyramid Head: Sees the auras of all survivors suffering from TORMENT for an absolut massive 6 seconds when sendin one to the cage of atonment

For me, boons are a fun and fine mechanic to add and there’s almost nothing wrong with them in their current form. It’s just circle of healing. That one perk has kind of soiled the whole idea of boons for many players because individual healing is just such a strong tool.

The health chapter thing is a great idea. Operation health in r6s was really needed, and it made the game MUCH better

For the Health Chapter I think instead of a new Killer/Survivor, they should rework Killers that need it, under the beta tab, that way, if there's issues, you can just go to base game version of the killer

I think boons are wayyy to op still. They should at least make it so that it takes longer each time a survivor boons them, or allow killers to permanently destroy it if it's booned twice. I feel that everytime I destroy a boon, theres a survivor waiting nearby to place it again as soon as I leave

A health chapter would be such a good thing for DBD. It would at least help most of the current issues with the game and allow the devs to breathe a bit

The whole thing with making perks basekit isnt good for the game, but it depends on what perk is being made basekit. DS and BT would be too strong for basekit, but imagine a toned down version of Kindred as basekit. Where when a survivor gets hooked you can see the auras of other survs, but not the killer. It would just be a mechanic that solely benefits solo survs and not swf much bcuz they already have communication. I believe this would be a net positive for the game if this was done.

Getting rid of Perk Tiers would greatly improve the grind for this game.
