Anyone looking for a vehicle should patronize the dealers who didn't mark-up the MSRP during the car shortage. The ones who marked up the MSRP deserve what they get.

As someone who has been searching and following the market consistently for the last year and a half, this is music to my ears!

That and the price of vehicles are OUTRAGEOUS!!
Pickup trucks are between $65-100 k
That’s ridiculous!!

How about getting some inventory and offering some real deals like they used too!!! For 2.5 years they basically treated customers like an abusive partner. They made us all feel like second class citizens on a regular basis.
I had one salesperson say to me when I was walking a lot that they “we have no trucks and will not be getting trucks for a very very long time” basically not wanting my business. I am done with these dealers. I hope they get what they have coming to them. Bankruptcy

My lease is up in a couple of months, so I’ve been making inquiries at some dealerships. One of my local dealer’s sales guy told me that since I was local they wouldn’t up charge me $5000 over the msrp. Apparently that’s what they are doing to potential customers who happen to be out of the area. I told him that I was glad he told me that and I would never visit his dealership. It just rubbed me the wrong way.

Pay attention to rental fleets they are getting close having their back orders filled, and they are about to stop buying from dealers. Once that happens watch the dealers start jumping out of windows when they can't get a sale.

I’m looking for a new Ford tremor, found one at a dealership in my area. I called on Monday and told them I’ll come in on the weekend to check it out, they told me I should come in earlier because the truck will be gone. A few days later, they called me on Friday and said the truck is still available and if was planning to come check it out. These guys sounded desperate. I’ve changed my plans to now looking for a 2021 Ford Raptor

I bought new 2023 RAV4 XLE Premium on Dec 10, 2022 at MSRP. I told the dealer I won't buy it unless zero markup. They agreed to my offer. Financed with toyota with the lowest rate (lower than my credit union) and zero down. Negotiated zero markup over the phone before coming to the dealership.

The dealers finally got there ass bit. It doesn't pay to be greedy! Hope those dealerships close. Good kudos for GM and Ford
for speaking up!

Ben finally saw this in Northern Michigan ... over 13000 off MSRP on a truck that they weren't willing to discount a dime below MSRP in October. They wouldn't budge on a 3/4 ton, but the half tons saw a huge mark down.

Can you suggest a site where we can post the dealerships that have price gouged us during these tough times?

Ben, hate to break it to you - a lot of those texts are coming from computer generated templates. Once they get your number and e-mail you're in a system - somewhere on the cloud waiting to be hacked.

That's where you're getting your texts and e-mails from.

Always great advice from you Ben, and great to hear Dealers no longer have the upper hand and we can negotiate again. I intend to do as you say and make an offer and stick to it. They took advantage of the consumer during the shortages, and I am happy to hear of their negative outlook.

Dealers made a fortune . Now the public needs to stop buying for 6 months so they literally beg the public to buy

Decided to fix up my old pick up truck, It's gotten me out of the house wrenching and doing outdoor activities. I sleep at night with a 2-foot booger, not a car payment in sight. That extra Moola goes into my savings and dirt-cheap truck parts (700+) month saved.
