Highlander captured perfectly the elements of immortality: the adventure, the humor, the human connections, the loss of loved ones, the loneliness and that feeling of burning out near the end like it wasn't worth it. Not to mention the mystery: All immortals are orphans so where do they come from? What is the prize? What happens if they do fight on holly ground? I hope these themes will be shown in the new film.

reboot is one way of saying we don't have any creative and original directors anymore. well on the case of batman Nolan is freaking awesome.

In this way they can cover Connor's saga over the 3 movies and not conflict with the basic principles of the Immortals idea! The should come up with sub names for the movies to not just parts 1, 2, and 3! Maybe like Highlander: Awakening (part 1), Highlander: The Quickening (part 2), and Highlander: The Prize (part 3) and make each movie like a 2 1/2 or 3 hours each to really get in and tell the story! Of course the reboot should feature at least 1 Queen song, the iconic "Princes of the Universe"!

Here we go. People crying like little children because the classics are getting remade. They call them instant failures when the only ones who fail are the once who fail to realize that maybe, just maybe there will be something that breathes new life into the classic series.

But I think having a competent writing team and keeping the same director, writers, etc. it could be made into a very well made series and make it the franchise it should have been! I think the only way to do this is to make it like an ongoing saga spanning over a 3 movie trilogy like Lord of the Rings! Highlander part 1 should have him killing an Immortal but not the last one and in each movie leads into the next and finally killing the last Immortal in the third movie and winning the Prize!

if we get a reboot, remake (what ever you wanna call it) it better have a good endding because we dont need another highlander 2 like the crap we got, if it is left open for a 2nd movie the 2nd movie better be good or dont even make a 2nd movie, fans of highlander love the first one because it is what highlander is about, not some si fi knock off> (Highlander 2), hell they should have just called the pilot of the TV show highlander 2 in my opinion, and highlander endgame should have been the 3rd film
