This type of small, personal application for solar power WITH BATTERIES is the only truly practical use of solar power. A really good personal solar power system can get quite expensive, but what Lily has here is a nice low-cost solution and will get you through some bad times.

When the power grid collapses, it's not your immediate neighbors that will be your adversaries... But a light shining on a dark night is a beacon for "insects" for miles around 🤔🤔.. use what energy you have wisely

Wow, nice set up. I remember 60 years ago, I was a boy scout . . . and their motto was then and still is. "BE PREPARED".

Thank you, Lilly, for such great insights into your perspective. You are a hero to many. ☮️

You're 100% correct Lilly. You still need a generator for heavy amperage items like a pump, large power tools, etc. Even if your inverter could take the load, it'll take a long time for a small solar system to replace that power back into the batteries. Charging electronics, powering LED lights, a small TV, laptop, medical devices, etc. is where a solar system really shines. Your solar charge controller could easily handle another panel also, if you ever have the need for more.

Living in Western North Carolina and dealing with the results from Helene, I have been researching solar setups. I'm glad that you went over yours because it is a great start..

Thanks to you I pulled the trigger on an Anker solar generator. Purchased it in January with a 400 watt folding solar panel and have now used it 4 times. We live in Florida and lose power occasionally for thunderstorms but also for Helene and Milton. Kept my refrigerator, ceiling fans and TV powered for hours. Thank You for the videos, you’re great!

Living in North Dakota we get more sunshine than most of Europe so the Solar system produces more power. We also have dependable wind so a 400W wind charger is a good addition to a system for rural applications. This allows for an operation of water pumps and furnace systems as well as lighting. Also the addition of a propane back up system with an 800 gallon (3000 liter) tank. We also back up with locally available wood and crop waste (straw and stover)

I live in upstate SC, fairly close to where Southern Prepper 1 lives, I lost power for a total of 8 days and at that we were lucky. We got off light compared to what happened to Western North Carolina. I am a prepper, a mid level prepper. I still learned some lessons from this storm. I have a propane Generator and a small solar system, with the stuff for a much larger one that is still not operational. My biggest lesson was I did not have anywhere near enough propane. I keep about 100 gallons on hand, not even close to enough. I also keep 80 gallons of gas and all the vehicles are filled anytime they drop to half a tank. So I had somewhere between 120 to 140 gallons of gas on hand. For which I was very thankful, one of our family members was in an acute care unit, which was not prepared worth a damn, I had to drive there daily and if I did not have reserves in fuel, it would have been bad. One thing I would like to stress is cash is also a prep, you need to keep a few hundred in small bills on hand. If you need something and I did, it was hit and miss but some places were open but cash only. What worries me is people call this a hundred year storm, that is BS. It might be a hundred years before we get hit like that but we could just as easily be hit the same a in the next few months. These things are not bullet dodged and now we are safe. It should be see these things really do happen and if you are not killed by it, you are certainly going to suffer from it. There is nowhere on earth where a disaster cannot happen. It will happen, just a question of when. Most people cannot spend thousands on a what if, but everyone can spend a little here and a little there working toward solutions. Here is the US our government has being making the younglings stupid, convincing them that big brother will come to the rescue. The only people the government gives a damn about is other people in government. If you are not one of them, a senior one of them, you are just an expendable peon.

Thank you Lilly, you are a good girl...yes, everything is changing quickly...Here is my take on things...as the climactic chaos intensifies so will wars, disinformation, induced hatred, artificial electronic deception ramp up...exactly as the scriptures stated for the last days...Lord bless you and your family...

I listened few weeks ago an Australian resident story. He was telling that in the beginning people were encourage to install solar panels and got some subsidies from the state but after time they were asked to pay tax for exploiting sun energy.

If you can afford to build one then go for it and run your laptop/TV etc because energy will only become more expensive due to the EU /UK reckless energy policy.

You said the key to solar practicality right at the end. Use the solar power you buy to power something within its capacity all the time, like a freezer. Then you will recover the cost by not buying that power from your electric service provider. Keep that application completely independent.
For flood pump out, direct current boat bilge pumps are available in many sizes to protect a basement before it fills up.

I’ve been a prepper in Florida since 2008 when we got hit by two major hurricanes back to back in a 2 week period. We lost electric for one month and at the time I had kids and dogs and I wasn’t prepared 😕 since then I have stocked up and have two power packs with solar panels. I got the Bluetti 1800 watt and a smaller 600 watt. I also got a Solar Ecoflow AC unit. We just had hurricane Milton last week and we were in South Florida where all those tornadoes broke out. Luckily we were fine but it got me thinking. Now I have all of my stuff in heavy plastic bins so if we do get a tornadoe or flood, at least my power packs and food will be dry. I’ve been going to thrift stores and picking up bins for a few dollars so now everything I have is in bins, ready to go. It might not be totally waterproof but it’s better than leaving things exposed and they are easy to grab and go if I had to leave. Thanks for all your tips! You are Amazing 🤩

Great to have solar content back Lilly. Thats what got me into your channel and built my own system similar to yours

I see the chem trails in the sky. They also allow less sun energy to you. This is a really good educational informational post. Thank you for all you do.!😊fo. 5:30

You mentioned your friend that didn't prepare and when he lost electricity he couldn't use his sump pump. You also mentioned that your batteries would run your sump pump for about 30 minutes. Here in the US an emergency sump pump can be purchased that runs on water pressure alone without any electricity. If you still have city water pressure, that will be all you need. It's wasteful but in an emergency some exceptions can be made. Without any water pressure a generator will still be needed. This was a very good video. Thanks for posting it.

Just started on this for my cabin in Poland. Bought an EcoFlow Delta 2 which runs the essentials for about 14 hrs. Will add 500w solar panel and additional battery as funds allow. I also have a generator for further backup.

Had a power outage today for 4 hours. I had a system installed in the house when it was built 12 years ago that allows me to connect my 7000 watt generator and power the necessary things inside. Like my well pump, all my freezers and 2 fridges, and a couple rooms, and lots of outlets. Today was the first time I used it.
