I don't remember it being mentioned, but another benefit of this is that reduces overall tx/rx between you and your ISP, so it helps avoid hitting a monthly data cap if you have one.

I'm from Korea, 1G(100mb/s) internet is available almost everywhere but I downgraded the service to 100mb cause it is cheaper. $23 for 1G and $ 15$ for 100mb. 100mb is still good for watching netflix in 4K. I feel slow only when I download games. it takes 83min for downloading 50Gb but with giga internet just 8min
