He told you not to be dependent on Russia's natural gas. You laughed at him.

It is simple: Most Americans desire no wars, energy independence, secure border, less corrupt intelligence agencies, no poison in our foods and low taxes. What is wrong with all of that?

What about German tariffs on America cars...why does Germany expect not to be treated like the way it treats the USA? In the land of blind, the one eyed person is king!

As a dual German/American citizen, it’s very fair for Trump to tell other nations to meet a 2% defense. A country partnership is a 50/50 contribution not the US doing 80/20 as it has been for too long.

Great discussion. I listen from the USA and love being able to hear German perspective.

Why is it considered radical to be concerned about your own country? Trump worked for world peace so we all could relax and work more concerning issues

But why SHOULD America pay for countries that can’t be bothered to pay their fair share for collective security? It’s COLLECTIVE security. Should some members of a collective security pact get away with free loading? Europeans need to consider their actions. The sense of entitlement there is horrible.

These guys are on auto-pilot as a society and are just waking up to a new reality. And now they must play nice with the person they have spent years ridiculing and bad-mouthing. You made your bed, now lie in it.
