I am a physicist. But one question I keep asking about all these space probes: What the hell are we looking for out their in the space. We haven't even explored one tenth of our earth and look how terrifying we have made earth for ourselves: Nuclear threats, global warming, starvation in the midst of plenty. What the hell are looking for out there?

The probe cannot bypass any obstruction in its path, how does one suppose insight will achieve a clear path to the proper 8ft or so? I dont think it will achieve its goal if it cant bore out its path.
