Our parents trained us all for this exact moment by getting to the airport at 5am for a flight at 3pm.

For anyone wondering, those airports are 90 kilometres apart. That's a 52 minute drive at highway speed with no traffic.

It’s honestly insane how far Narita is from Hadena. I had no idea Tokyo was so enormous.

I'm so glad I went on the study abroad trip I did. The Japan trip was labeled "strenuous" at my college and it's because sensei was literally walking us to two or three activities a day for a month. We only had maybe 3 free days the whole month. We went to archeology digs, reproduction historical homes, both a noh play and a Kabuki play, so many temples, a traditional tea ceremony in a historic samurai home, a calligraphy class, a botanical garden, a freaking factory walk through where we got to dress up in uniforms and helmets. That's just a tiny fraction, we did so much it was overwhelming at times. Seriously if you are going to Japan and just going to Akihabara and shopping in Tokyo all day you are missing out on SO much.

Had the most lovely lady that helped us when we got lost on the train networks getting to Haneda airport. We were over an hour late for check in. Managed to grab someone that was free from business / first class check in. This lady proceeded to call in help and guide us towards a private security/screening room. We were so grateful, thanked them profusely! We made it with 30mins to spare. Am forever grateful towards Haneda airport staff.

Hard to get to without a flight? In 2017, i did a day trip to Wakayama from Osaka using my 7 day JR pass. It was an easy train ride from Osaka. I left early with the first train to wakayama so i could maximize the visit. I just did a really short hike from Daimon Zaka to Nachi-san.

Easily one of my favorite places in Japan. It's so serene and peaceful. I remember getting so emotional reading "may peace reign eternally on earth" as written near the shrine. There was something so magical about the place.

I just can't image how that must have felt. I hate making similar mistakes, that's why I frantically check everything 3, 4-5 times and can never relax. I'm glad you managed to fix it just in time!

Oh I love that veiled hat! It’s so under appreciated in Japanese traditional/historical dress! Idk what it’s called but it’s so cool!

My first trip to Japan was a school-sanctioned exchange program and we were assigned in Wakayama Prefecture. It was such a fun experience! We got to see areas that aren’t filled with tourists which was something I took for granted.
