Tell me if I said something wrong...So to connect from outside a network you need to input your external IP(from which we are going to remotely access) and make changes to the port forwarding sections of the router on which we have the machine which is to be remotely accessed. But in case of accessing a local machine remotely, we need to enter the IP of the machine which is to be remotely controlled.

Hi Brian, not sure if you mentioned it, but you haveto have Win 10 PRO to have remote working, if you have Home your stuffed....back to Teamviewer lol...Fred in Essex Uk

All nicely explained except one crucial thing. To connect to other devices, you need Windows Pro version. Otherwise you can only allow for connection to your own device only.

I wonder why my desktop PC running on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit cannot do remote desktop connection to my nearby laptop PC running on Windows 10 Home 64-bit both connected to the same network via Ethernet. However, my laptop is able to RDP my desktop without any hassles...
