What lessons should we learn from the partition of the subcontinent?

In India, Hindus and Sikhs tell similar stories of brutality perpetrated on them... Innocents suffered on both sides. And no offense, but here it's believed that Muslims started it after Jinnahs direct action day instigation

The number of Hindus who became refugees are much much more.
The comparative study of census report and a study of demographic structure in both countries will make it further clear.
24% Muslims took 26% of land and formed Pakistan.
One third of Muslims stayed back in India and if India wants their share of one third land back Pakistan will understand everything better.

About 7.25 million people migrated from each side (total of about 14.5 million). Regardless what direction the moved, almost all families have similar stories. I am descendant of migrants myself, who moved from India to Pakistan. From my mother's side my grandfather was only one who made it alive (barely), all his siblings were murdered. Same happened to his extended family/cousins, where only one or two people out of entire household made it alive. But two generations down (my generation) things are different. I live in Canada in a city which has significant Indian population, and in my university days all my roommates were from India. Two of them belonged to families who migrated from Pakistan to India. We talked about it and shared stories we heard from our grandparents. This gave us better prospective, awareness and respect for each other. We need to tell these stories to next generations, to create awareness.

Love from Sylhet, Bangladesh❤

After 1971, Bangladesh's govt has almost erased the history of partition and 1947. Now, not many things are thought about 1947.But I believe history can never be erased and partition was a integral part of our subcontinent's hisotry.

If the first education minister of india is a muslim, what made them think "hindus will enslave muslims in undivided india?", Infact it was the congress who were campaining for kilafat in india, and jinnah called it "bigotry". When muslim league lost to congress in the 1940 elections, jinnah instilled fear on the hearts of muslims by saying "islam in danger"
This slogan got him 400+ seats in 1946 elections.

The reality of this video shows us that basically we are not all different. Regardless of which province our families and neighbours once resided we all had to make some kind of change to our lives whether they lost family friends neighbours etc to migration or the brutality of both sides. Just watching this i wonder how many of my family members are across the border who i dont even know. Everyone lost apart of their identity due to the partition.

Because of Jinnah, Hindus suffered a lot. this partition should be depicted as black time in our history
this video is so without the point, its more than 75 years now and see India has 22% muslim population, but you cannot see a hindu politician in pakistan, so much hypocrisy is in the video.
my grandfather's brother in law's best friend was a muslim and he became the very person who poisoned him.
India is secular, pakistan is not. so if you want to blame anyone for partition and deaths, blame every pakistan who praise the partition.
